Love Herb Savers!

Sometimes I get carried away when it comes to buying greens. Especially at Farmers Market. It’s overwhelming in all the right ways, surrounded by abundance, and green as far as the eye can see. But I read recently that Americans waste 40% of the food they buy.

I am certainly guilty of that and have thrown out or composted enough congealed, liquified, no longer recognizable vegetables and greens to have made plenty of smoothies.

Although I’m usually skeptical of miracles promised by gadget makers, the herb saver not only does it exactly what its name suggests, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t crisp them too.

These little time capsules look like something out of Wall-E and are a little difficult to manipulate but they extend the life of cilantro and parsley by at least two weeks. Next I plan to try them with asparagus.

I totally recommend this product, especially since the shallow water basin keeps the plants alive until you’re ready to eat them. Excellent.
